On 29th May 2007 APS New Zealand held an Auckland Document and Email Management session for clients and a small number of prospective clients. The session came about because people who attended the New Zealand Client Briefings in March and April expressed an overwhelming interest for more information about document and email management.
At APS we are proud to say that we have extensive domain knowledge in this area having implemented solutions for firms in the UK, Europe and Australasia. Brian Coventry, Managing Director APS Europe, presented attendees with best practice considerations in the document and email management space, with education and knowledge sharing being key themes.
More than 50 people attended the session and there was significant interest and discussion around the topic. All present were very appreciative of Brian’s efforts to make the trip to Auckland especially for this event.

During May the APS Australia team hosted a series of Client Briefings covering Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. The sessions were well attended with over 200 people present.
The briefings provided a great opportunity for the APS team to give an update on the APS Development Roadmap as well as offering a range of tips and tricks to attendees on maximising use of APS software in their own practices. In addition, a range of practical examples demonstrated how firms can improve current practice efficiency through the adoption of additional APS applications and best practice use of upgrades to existing products.
Feedback from attendees was very positive – particularly in relation to the face-to-face opportunity that the briefings presented for those who do not have such a regular opportunity to engage with the APS team. Those who attended were able to see a snapshot of what will be provided in much more detail at the APS Client Conference in New Zealand.
Regular APS meeting attendees will know that with Glenn Roberts and Sam Allert on presentation duty, there was a lighter side to the presentations with some of the practical examples looking for the more humorous side of day-to-day accounting work!

On 16th May, APS UK held a joint session with Interwoven, our ‘Worksite’ document and email management application partner, to help clients understand what it takes to attain the paperless office environment – and present a range of next steps to set the wheels in motion .
More and more firms are expressing a requirement for a secure and efficient paperless environment. However, there does seem to be a genuine understanding that to change effectively there is a need to properly plan ahead. Current volumes of paper and errantly stored client papers and documents suggest that the right solution will minimise practice risk, improve productivity and, just as importantly, enhance client service.
The session was attended by a good number of firms who were eager to learn more about the Worksite solution.
