Executive Forum – November 2007 & April 2008

In early November 2007 APS held the very first of our Australian Executive Forums, hosted by Group CEO, Brian Armstrong. A random group of clients was invited to attend a boardroom lunch at Melbourne’s Australian Club to discuss issues of the day impacting the accounting profession.

Big 4, second tier and smaller firms were all represented and the main subject of discussion for the day was ‘Partner Succession Planning’. Importantly, the Executive Forum following the successful template developed by APS’s UK team – with the aim of the day not being to talk about APS but to facilitate discussion among peers who rarely have the opportunity to come together in one room.

Following on from the Melbourne gathering, the Executive Forum will now move to Sydney for a boardroom lunch style gathering in April. Again, we will randomly select firms representing the whole profession to hone in on some of the key issues – from staff retention and practice succession, to generational differences, marketing and recruitment.

We look forward to reporting on our Sydney Forum in the next issue of Advancements – and to adding more Forum dates into the calendar in other geographical locations.

If senior peer group meetings are of interest to your firm, we’re keen to hear from you – please email on renned@aps-advance.com

Client Briefings – Australia

Our annual round of Client Briefings is being run again across Australia during April and May. These briefings will provide an update on APS products and the status of functional and version enhancements.

For those clients who were unable to join us in Queenstown for the annual APS conference the Client Briefings provide a great overview of the current direction of the APS product family and give insight to our team’s focus and direction for the coming year. Of course, the Briefings also offer a great chance to network with peers and APS colleagues.

For those clients that did attend conference it presents a further opportunity to cement your planning for the next 12 months.

The provisional dates for your calendar are as follows;

  • Adelaide - 22nd April
  • Melbourne - 23rd April
  • Brisbane - 29th April
  • Sydney - 30th April
  • Perth - 6th May
