In April this year, APS CEO Brian Armstrong hosted his second APS Executive Forum, a luncheon discussion for members of the profession held at Darling Harbour’s Astral Private Dining Room in Sydney.
The feedback following the event was very positive with participants taking up the rare opportunity to discuss common issues faced across the profession and see how different firms are dealing with these issues.
Debate was very lively and topics of particular interest to those present were company culture, staff retention and partner succession planning, while the ever-present discussion of timesheets vs. value-billing seemed to make its way back onto the agenda!
With the first two APS Executive Forums proving to be such as success, additional dates are now being finalised for Brisbane in July, followed by Melbourne in September.
During April we ran Australian Client Briefings in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. The Briefings are an ideal way for our clients to learn more about what they can do with their current APS applications as well as see where APS is heading in the future in terms of product updates and new technologies.
We were delighted with the number of clients who attended each of the Briefings this year, with a significant increase in the number of attendees from last year in each city. We hope this confirms our thinking that the Client Briefings are an excellent way to update clients on our future product direction.
The Briefings covered updates on all APS applications with specific focus on optimising current versions in use. We were also excited to show off some of the new applications and updated features that are available now or coming on line in the near future.
As always, a great bi-product to these Briefings is the opportunity for clients and the APS team to network over drinks and canapés, while enjoying the spectacular views and surroundings of Sydney Harbour, Brisbane River, the atmosphere of Telstra Dome in Melbourne or Adelaide’s National Wine Centre or the Hyatt Regency in Perth.
We would like to thank our many clients who took time out of their days to attend our 2008 Client Briefings and certainly encourage those firms who were not able to attend to join us next year.
