Qualifications / Background: Bachelor of Business Studies Professional Squash Player 10 years IT & Communications - NZ & UK
How long have you worked at APS? Just over 2 years, I started on 1 August 2006.
What attracted you to APS? Previously I worked with a business partner of APS so I had the luxury of getting to know the APS family, culture and client base over an extended period. The APS story is one to be proud of for both clients and staff. When the opportunity presented itself I was very keen to get involved and be part of the next chapter.
What will your job involve? Managing the APS business in New Zealand.
What are some of the things you look forward to accomplishing while working at APS? A key focus is to build on the close relationships that we already enjoy with our clients. We are in the fortunate position of having a highly talented team that has been working with the best accounting firms in New Zealand for a long time. I want to leverage this to our client’s advantage by agreeing priorities at the highest level and setting measurable objectives for our on-going engagement. We will also continue to bring on high quality firms that we are not already helping through our managed growth strategy.
Career high (so far!) – Biggest achievement Taking on this role of running the APS business in New Zealand!
Memberships Squash club but rarely use it with 2 children under 3 years old!
For relaxation Reading a book at the beach or bouncing on the trampoline with my two-and-a-half year old boy.
Best indulgence Sticky date pudding with cream and ice-cream, accompanied by a glass of desert wine (or 2)!
Personal philosophy In life it is not what happens that is most important but what you choose to think about it.
Best advice You can have whatever you want if you help enough people around you get what they want. |
