Qualifications / Background:

I grew up with an accountant (my Dad!). After finishing school in 1983 I went on to complete the Cordon Bleu Certificate in Cookery. Then I spent 5 years in retail before working for my father's accounting practice for the next 5½ years. It was there that I was poached by Shane Compton to join APS. That was back in 1995, and I've been with APS ever since...

How long have you worked at APS?

So for those that cannot add, 14 years has just ticked over.

What attracted you to APS?

The people – my sister worked here before me and I knew the team quite well. So it wasn't a hard decision.

What will your job involve? 

 Well, where do I start? It involves a lot these days, as I have been around so long, I am really just part of the furniture (the creaky old furniture that is!). A key component of my role includes co-ordinating the Consulting Team for the Auckland office. Our consultants share their time between Client On-site work and Helpdesk work, so I work with the team to make sure they are on track with their projects. I also work closely with Tania Stratton, our Helpdesk Manager, to ensure the Helpdesk is manned at appropriate levels and call response times are good.

What have I accomplished so far!  Well I'm a bit long in the tooth for this question! My accomplishments have been many over the years, but the best part has been implementing our software across so many wonderful client sites. I've built up great relationships and friendships with clients over the years.

Another key factor these days is assisting our newly appointed General Manager, Grant, with getting to know the client base a little more and helping him with budget expectations for the team.

Riding around the USA on my Harley for 2 months last year!!!
