As mentioned in the overview, both of theses releases include some fantastic enhancements to our product suite and below we have highlighted some of those major enhancements.
The major enhancements to Practice Management Version 9.1 include Advance Document Manager, workflow enhancements including guide and documents, Outlook contact integration, new budgets, and enhanced console interface.
Advance Document Manager (ADM); we have developed a new document management system to replace our existing notes and links tab. With Advance Document Manager you can manage all of your client folders, and save directly into those folders from Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. We also have an automated save on send feature when sending e-mails from within Outlook. We have also included customisable Meta data (properties) tags to allow more advanced saving and search options across your documents.
Workflow Enhancements: We have included a guide and documents section within Matters and Milestones so that you can create or link your current job process documents and provide easy to do guides for your staff. These guides obviously link back into ADM and allow your staff to launch standard templates straight from the process document.
Outlook contact integration: The ability to synchronise your contacts from Advance with your Outlook contacts. You can use our client list selection tool to select which contacts you want to push from Advance into your Outlook contacts area. This can be done on a user by user basis or by an admin setting for all users.
New Budgets; Our budgets area has been expanded to allow many features including setting up standard matters against a staff budget, better templating features, and more flexibility around part time and casual workers.
Enhanced Console Interface; we have expanded our central console area to allow more flexibility for the end user. Each user can now create a work environment that suits their daily processes. You can also set web links from within Central Console so users don’t have to leave Advance to do their work.

The major enhancements to Xcede Professional Accounting 9.0 include; enhancements to our asset maintenance form, new comparative journals form, unintegrated asset enhancement, the latest version of Xcede now operates with both Excel 2003 and SP1 of Excel 2007 (albeit with caveats on use in Excel 2007), Xcede Professionl Accounting reports will support integration with Advance Workpapers once Workpapers is released and installed, and enhancements to 3rd Party Conversion functions.
Asset Maintenance form enhancements allow comparative Additions, Sales Pool transfers etc. to be entered as normal movement transactions. These entries are processed in the same manner as if the entry happened in the current year. Asset comparative year Opening Balances and depreciation/accumulated depreciation can now be edited via a new form launched from Asset Maintenance.
A new ‘Comparative Journals’ form allows for the editing of GL Comparative Opening Balances, Year End Adjustments and period balances via entry of Journal transactions. This form is also available for updating this year’s opening balances.
The ‘Save As’ form now allows renaming of an existing ledger as an alternative to creating a copy of the ledger.
The Practice Settings maintenance form has been split into 2 forms. Local Settings (machine specific) and Practice Settings. The Practice Settings form remains under JOE control while Local Settings remain accessible to all users.
A Practice level ‘Xcede Printer’ may be assigned to have the job stream generated Xcede reports use a specific printer without affecting the machine’s default printer assignment.
New ‘Delete All’ functionality is provided in the User Defined Fields maintenance form.
Editing the number of periods now allows for the allocation of entries by date for the current and future years.
Data entry options are now saved in the Advance Database rather than the registry. This functionality has been extended to also allow practices to set their own data entry defaults.
New Xcede functions retrieve Trust Distribution values as entered through the Profit Distribution form.
Xcede Reporting options have been moved from the PAShare.ini file to the SUPS. The password protecting of the Xcede results sheets is now controlled through JOE.
New Asset Un-Integrate functionality in the Administration Tool removes the account assignments from the Asset Groups, sets the Asset Groups as Non-Integrated and clears unlinked GL account system flags. |
